Daniel Mon, President
Dan is a Senior Director in global equity research at Nuveen, a TIAA company. Over his career in investment management, Dan has served as an investment analyst and portfolio manager for investment funds such as Citadel and Hoplite Capital Management, among others. He began his career in global equity research at Citigroup in New York and London in 2003. He is currently a trustee of Chatham Day School where he serves as Treasurer and Head of the Finance Committee, having previously served on the Strategic Planning Committee and the Head of School Search Committee. Dan graduated with a degree in History and Philosophy from Boston College. He resides in New Jersey with his wife, Kristin, and his three daughters. He has volunteered at the Bart Center since 2019. In addition to the Bart Center, he volunteers as a coach for TOPSoccer. Dan was inspired to volunteer at the Bart Center by the amazing experience of his youngest daughter and the dedicated volunteers of the program from whom he has learned so much.. |
Adam Heilemann, Treasurer
Adam is a Managing Director and Head of Liquidity Management at State Street Bank & Trust with over 20 years of experience in fixed income investing, treasury management, and structured finance. While at State Street, he has lived and worked in Boston and Sydney and served on State Street’s Global Outreach Committee dedicated to promoting employee volunteerism. Adam grew up in Vermont and is a lifelong skier. He has been a dedicated Bart Center volunteer since 2020 and continues to advance his adaptive skiing instructional skills. Adam holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and government from St. Lawrence University, a Master’s in Business Administration from Duke University, and a Master’s in Public Administration in economics from Harvard University. Adam also serves as on the Advisory Board for the Massachusetts Oyster Project, a non-profit dedicated to the reintroduction of oysters into Massachusetts waters and is an active volunteer with Boston Partners in Education. |
Eileen Sawyer, Secretary
Eileen Sawyer is a photographer and life-long skier. She and her family recently relocated from Weston, Connecticut to live full time in South Londonderry, Vermont. While living in Connecticut, Eileen served on the boards of several local non-profit organizations. Eileen graduated from Rutgers University in 1990 with a degree in Finance. Following college, she worked in human resources consulting and outsourcing for sixteen years and was an Account Executive and Owner with Hewitt Associates. Eileen has been skiing at Bromley with her husband and two sons since 2009, and was inspired to become involved with the board after getting to know Joe and Betsy and the outstanding work of the Bart Center. |
Steve Kerstein
Steven Kerstein is a retired businessman residing in both Westchester County, New York and on Stratton Mountain in Vermont. Steve spends the vast majority of the winter and much of the summer and early fall in Vermont. Since retirement in 2010, Steve has been active in the Stratton community. In addition to being a member of the Bart Center Board, Steve is currently the President of the Stratton Foundation, which he has been involved with since 2010, having served as Treasurer prior to becoming President in 2016. Steve has also served as the Treasurer and board member of the Stratton Trailblazers from 2012-2017, was on the Stratton Mountain Club Advisory Board from 2012-2018, having served as Board Chair from 2013-2018, and is a Board member and the Treasurer of the Stratton Family Fund. Steve is married to his high school sweetheart, Diane Kerstein, who is a part- time pediatric cardiologist in Westchester County, New York. Steve and Diane have two adult children, Jason and Emily. |
Robin Hogen
Robin grew up skiing at Bromley – back when all of the lifts were J-Bars. He skied competitively at Andover and Yale and - fast forward - now enjoys skiing with his four grandchildren. After retiring from a career in communications and public affairs, Robin and his wife now spit their time between their beach house in South Norwalk, Connecticut and a ski house in Bondville. Sharing the joy of skiing with people with disabilities has brought new meaning to the sport for Robin. There is nothing he likes to do more than follow Betsy down the mountain - and try to keep up with her! When he is not skiing, Robin enjoys sailing, cycling, kayaking, windsurfing, and playing tennis and golf. He is a Fellow of Branford College and serves on the Board of Discovering Amistad and the Yale Club of New York City. |
Jim Lawler
Jim has over 30 years of experience in alternative and traditional asset management, with roles encompassing sales, marketing, trading, client relationship, investment and product development. Jim has served on the Board of Directors of the TS Alliance and the TS Alliance Endowment Fund and Abilis Inc. He currently sits on the board of directors of the Glenn Howatt Foundation, and Twin Meadows, Inc (dedicated to building accessible playgrounds for handicapped children). Jim is an alumni of Portsmouth Abbey and New York University. He resides in North Stamford CT with his wife and three children and is an active member of the community. He is an avid outdoorsman and an accomplished sailor and competitive sailboat racer. |
Dr. Katherine Bentley
Kate Bentley began teaching adaptive skiing in 2002 when she worked in Utah as an adaptive skiing instructor. She is now a pediatric physiatrist at Children’s Specialized Hospital. She is the past president of the medical staff, director of the chronic pain program, director of the continuing medical education department, director of the pediatric physiatry fellowship, assistant professor and section chief of physiatry. Kate graduated from The Lawrenceville School in 1998 and Middlebury College in 2003. She became an adaptive skiing instructor in college which sparked her interest in rehabilitation medicine. Kate graduated from New Jersey Medical School in 2007. Kate was inspired to be a member of the Bart Center board by her son Elliott who is a student at the Bart Center. Kate loves going on adventures in Vermont with her husband Alfred and 3 children: Alfie. Elliott and Annabelle. |
Mark Odendahl
Mark Odendahl is a Managing Director and the Head of U.S. Research at RBC Capital Markets. Mark has over 20 years of capital markets experience. Mark joined RBC in 2008 and ran the RBC Midwest equity sales region until 2019. Prior to RBC, Mark held equity sales positions at Wachovia and Deutsche Bank/Alex Brown. Mark received his BS in Finance from the Pennsylvania State University. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania State University golf team. Mark resides in New Jersey with his wife, Jennifer, and his three sons. All three Odendahl boys learned how to ski at Bromley. Mark was inspired to work with the Bart Center by witnessing the amazing experiences Bart provides kids, adults, and veterans. |
Susan Rockwell
Susan is the Director of Communications at the Washington School for Girls (WSG) in Washington, DC and has an extensive background in small-shop non-profit fundraising operations. WSG is an all-scholarship independent school that is philanthropy-funded and is driven by its educational equity mission. Prior to WSG, Susan began her fundraising and communications career at Long Trail School in Dorset, VT, of which she is an alumna. She earned her undergraduate degree in history from Davidson College in North Carolina. She lives in Maryland with her husband, Austin, and two dogs. A native Vermonter and the daughter of two ski instructors, Susan practically grew up in the Bromley Mountain base lodge, first as a Mighty Moose, then a Jet, and then a member of the Bromley Ski School staff. She earned her PSIA Level I certification in the early 2000s before becoming the oddball of her family and seeking year-round, full-time employment in the non-profit sector. Susan was motivated to serve on the Board by her mother, Madeline, who was a long-time volunteer and Board member who delighted in bringing the joy of skiing to Bart Adaptive athletes. |
Kelly Dauer-Hubschmitt
Kelly is a Senior Director of Marketing in Multiple Myeloma at Johnson & Johnson. She has extensive commercial experience across sales and marketing within Johnson & Johnson, Bausch Health, and Merck, known for being an inclusive “people first” leader with a focus on collaboration, while challenging the status quo. She currently serves as board of director for the Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders (GFPD), a non-profit focused on research, scientific collaboration, and education to support patients and families impacted by rare disease. Previously she served as Chair and Vice Chair from 2016-2022. Kelly earned her undergraduate degree in Economics and Psychology, and her MBA from Rutgers University. She lives in Chester NJ with her husband Matt and two boys Jack (11) and Luke (7). Jack has been skiing with the Bart Adaptive program since 2016, and Matt has been a volunteer instructor for six years. Inspired by her families experience throughout the years, Kelly volunteers to give back to the community that offers individuals the gift of skiing no matter their ability. |
Sam Good
Sam Good is a former Vice President in Business Development at Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) and has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Whilst at BMS, Sam was a volunteer on the leadership team for the ‘Disability Network’ and was active in championing inclusiveness for people with disabilities. Sam was born and raised in the UK and has been living in NJ for 15 years with her husband, Darren Lumbard, and two children. Sam holds a Bachelor's degree and PhD from the University of Sheffield, England. Sam has been a competitive athlete throughout her life, beginning with swimming through college before later taking on marathons and triathlons, as well as being a keen snowboarder and skier. In 2019 Sam sustained a spinal cord injury and has been a wheelchair user since. She has subsequently worked to rediscover an active lifestyle, competing in various marathons and endurance events in her Handcycle, and is currently re-learning how to play golf and discovering new pursuits such as pickleball. Sam loved spending time with Betsy and the Bart team at Bromley during the winter and is passionate about promoting sports and active lifestyles for people with disabilities. On her post-injury journey to date, Sam has partnered with the Challenged Athletes Foundation, Achilles International, Kessler Foundation and the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, and is excited about supporting access and opportunities for all. |
Dr. Kimberly Prins
Kim is a clinical psychologist working and living in Vermont. Having helped redevelop and then manage Johnny Seesaw’s restaurant and Seesaw’s Lodge from 2015-2023, she has close ties to Bromley, where her son and daughter both learned to ski under the JISP program and her husband Ryan volunteered as a JISP instructor. Kim received her BA in psychology from Quinnipiac College and her MS and PsyD in clinical psychology from Florida Institute of Technology. Kim enjoys engaging in VT outdoor activities year round, including gardening, fishing, paddleboarding, hiking and skiing. She was inspired by the work at Bart Adaptive to join the board and give back to this amazing community. |
Jeff Bell
Jeff comes to Bart with a great deal of experience in leading organizations and businesses. He currently serves as Director of Camp Susquehannock, Inc. 501(c)(3), where he is responsible for the strategic design and executive management of the "turn-around" of a 119-year-old residential sports camp. This includes management of a 1200-acre facility equipped with basketball, volleyball, tennis courts, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey and football fields; a swimming and boating facility on a 200-acre lake along with housing and dining facilities capable of holding over three hundred individuals. He spent most of his career as Founder & CEO of UGMC, a national debt and equity platform specializing in the commercial and residential real estate industry. He also served on the board for the United States Adventure Racing Association and Gibbons Outdoor Adventure Leadership School 501(c)(3). Jeff graduated from The Lawrenceville School (Lawrenceville, NJ) in 1982. From there he went on to pursue baseball at Texas Christian University (Fort Worth, TX) before transferring and graduating in 1986 from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. For the past twenty years Jeff has been highly active in extreme endurance sports; inclusive of Mountain Biking and Adventure Racing and he continues to compete on a national level. His team reached the podium five consecutive years in the U.S. Adventure Racing National Championships and finished in first place four consecutive years in the 24 Hours of Allamuchy Mountain Bike Race. Jeff and his wife Kim live in Center Valley, PA and have been married since 1989. Special fun skills and interests include Skiing, Snowshoeing, Flat & Whitewater Paddling, Mountaineering, Wilderness Navigation, Coaching and spending time with his family and friends. |
